Helping Students Reach Their Educational Goals

Examples of Our Success

Our expertise has been instrumental in helping kids and families in many ways:

  • Avoiding high school scheduling mistakes
  • Getting accepted into the college of choice
  • Providing parents and students with course suggestions
  • Determining appropriate high school classes
  • Gaining career knowledge while in high school

Example 1: A high school senior was told by his counselor that there were no course options for him during a certain class period. We consulted with the student, looked at the school schedule and, with a simple schedule modification, the student was able to move one course and take a course required for graduation.

Example 2: A family had a son in a residential treatment educational program. We were able to guide them through the process of applying to and being accepted at his chosen college. This was no easy task given his alternative educational history.

Example 3: A high school junior had an open period in her schedule. There was nothing appropriate for her to take so the school was going to allow early dismissal. We assisted her in finding a class through which she could earn college credit while in high school.

Example 4: A high school junior could not fit US History into her schedule. We worked with the school to allow her to take a correspondence course through which she earned full credit.

Example 5: A freshman had a very low grade in her 4th hour class. In looking at her attendance report, we noticed excessive tardies to that class which resulted in lost points due to missing many beginning of class activities. We helped her develop a better attendance plan which resulted in far fewer tardies and a higher grade in the course.

Example 6: Assisted a student in exploring vocational opportuntiies outside of school time and helped her enroll in a evening course leading to vocational certification. She now has many advantages over others who wait until they graduate high school to pursue these educational opportunities.

Example 7: A number of senior students were faced with a lack of course options in their spring semester. We worked with the school to set up independent study opportunities so students earned credit while pursuing a topic of their choice.

Example 8: A family had homeschooled its son through most of his education. Their challenge was getting him ready for college. We worked with the family to ensure the son's course of study aligned with requirements for college admission.
